Besides Lalitpur (Patan), Thimi and the village of Bhaktapur , Kirtipur is also one of the four most important Newar settlements in the Kathmandu valley. Objects of interest in the village and its vincinity are surprisingly manifold. Together with the rituals and customs kept alive everywhere by the inhabitants the tourist may gets a profound insight into the Newar-culture.
